Around the House Amusement

Listen, there are just times when it's, say, the middle of November and it's just a regular old Thursday afternoon and you just get an urge to dress up like a turtle. I don't know what else to say.

And then, what makes it even more fun, is when the floor needs cleaned the same day you dressed like a turtle and you just become a human broom.
And later that night, Mae found this bin of her old clothes that was going back to storage and proceeded to take out every piece of clothes, item by item.
Needless to say, she thought that was quite entertaining.
And in all that mess I found myself a nice hat to cap the day off.

Mae's 9-Month Alert!!

Yep, a few weeks late. In fact, Mae's closer to ten months than nine at this point but without further delay, here she is with Charlie.
As you can see, things are a little bit different this month than in months past. For example, here is Mae at five months, all chill, nice and calm sitting next to Charlie (actually it looks like she just woke up from an 18-day nap...)
And here is Mae these days, either giving Charlie the latest World Wrestling Federation body slam move, or CPR, one of the two.
If you haven't been around Mae lately, here's my take - it's like we live with a wild animal in our house. I mean, seriously, she is either climbing, falling off something, eating pear from four days ago off the floor, bumping her head, soiling herself ten times a day.

I mean, I started this whole thing off with some civility and thought she might strive to reach the lofty goals I set. It's basically like she looked at the road I paved and decided she would just throw up on it.

All that said, she is the love of our lives, a real snuggler and I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Back to the photos. No, it is not my nine month or 16-month or anything else, just thought I'd slip one in of me with old pal Chuck, for old time's sake.
And as usual, here is Mae, in her seat, just a complete mess. Don't worry, those are beats. I know, Jesus, she looks like a medic from the front lines of WWII..

Ready or Knot

So here's the deal, some people can tie their tongue in a knot, some people can tie their shoes in a know, some people get married and tie the knot, but here's how I roll.

See, while I sleep I twirl my hair, and over the past six months I've gotten pretty darn good at it, so good that I woke up one morning last week and I had tied my hair in a knot, but not even a knot so much as a pretty little circle bow.
Awesome? Yes. God-given talent? You decide.

Finley Spielberg

So the other night Dad and I made this movie together. I picked out all the pictures and then picked the song to go with it. It's your average Steven Spielberg flick, minus aliens, Tom Cruise, a $300 million budget and a Red Carpet Night.

Summer Lovin

Well, Summer is definitely on its way out and I thought I'd give you an update of what's going on in our house lately.

There's been some time spent on the potty...
Some time eating chocolate...
Mae's still doing her thing at the kitchen table...
And on the floor...
It's still nice enough to be outside, so that's been fun...
A little more time spent on the potty...
Yes, I know my underwear is on in the photos where you see me sitting on the potty... don't worry about it - I'm employing a new strategy to this whole potty-training thing.

Oh, and Mae is climbing all over God's creation. Here you can see she has climbed the water bottles...
And not quite sure about how to dismount.
So that's that at the Skertich household. I've got all my opposites down, I've got all the sounds of letters down, I'm counting to 50 and beyond, and Mensa called but I told them I'm a little busy right now eating some grapes so they should call back later.
