High Five, Eli

As you know, this blog is usually reserved for all things Finley and Mabel, hence the name of the blog. But when Eli turned five a few days ago and we went to his birthday party, it was big news.

This party was awesome from the word "go." When we got there Aunt Tasha took the bunnies out so we could hold them.

And then a little while later it was on to the cards and presents. He got some matchbox cars and some hockey pants.

And then the funniest gift of the night was that Luke got Eli some hair gel. Eli loves when Luke does his hair up with gel so Luke decided to get him some of his own. Nice work, Luke.

And then I gave him my card. Oh man, oh man, if there's one thing Eli loves, it's birthday cards, sometimes we think he loves them more than his presents. So I decided to make him a really nice one with lots of colors and stickers and stuff. Check out the look on his face - see what I mean?

After cards and presents the three "little kids," as I call us, snagged a photo opp and then Nana and Papa wanted in on the action.

Oh, and by the look on my face with my tongue wagging out can you guess what it was time for next? Yeah, you go ahead and smile for the camera, Nana, I've got my eye on that chocolate birthday cake.

Summer Lovin

Well, Summer is definitely on its way out and I thought I'd give you an update of what's going on in our house lately.

There's been some time spent on the potty...
Some time eating chocolate...
Mae's still doing her thing at the kitchen table...
And on the floor...
It's still nice enough to be outside, so that's been fun...
A little more time spent on the potty...
Yes, I know my underwear is on in the photos where you see me sitting on the potty... don't worry about it - I'm employing a new strategy to this whole potty-training thing.

Oh, and Mae is climbing all over God's creation. Here you can see she has climbed the water bottles...
And not quite sure about how to dismount.
So that's that at the Skertich household. I've got all my opposites down, I've got all the sounds of letters down, I'm counting to 50 and beyond, and Mensa called but I told them I'm a little busy right now eating some grapes so they should call back later.

Four Freaking Months

So today is my fourth month birthday and, again, not one card; what is it with you guys?

Anyway, dad took pictures of my three month birthday photo with Charlie the Bear but somehow he lost them, so without further ado - here is my four-month birthday photo with Charlie the Bear, and below are my one and two month photos.

Just a side note: During the photo shoot I was hungry, and Charlie started looking like a chocolate cake, so I tried to eat him. It didn't really work and I ended up falling all over the place, but at least we got the photo shoot in. Now I know what you're thinking - "But Finley, you don't even know what chocolate cake tastes like." Au contraire, my friends, mom loves chocolate cake so much she has given me every little detail about how it tastes, so I, in fact, do know what it tastes like, and that's why I tried to eat good ol' Charlie.

As you'll see, at the end of the photo shoot I needed to take a rest so I just laid down on Charlie's lap. He's a forgiving old bear, and didn't hold a grudge.

First, my one-month photo (I kind of look drunk in this picture...)

Then, my two-month photo (I kind of look like Clint Eastwood in this photo)

And, drumroll please, here is my four-month birthday photo

And here's where I mistake Charlie for a chocolate cake and go for the jugular

And here is Charlie and me relaxing after a long, stressful photo shoot
