U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!

So I don't know if I told you but I'm training for the 2028 Olympics. I heard they are being held in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and I feel like that would be great because all my friends and family could just jump in the car and drive down to see me.

So I'm getting up at 4:15am every morning and heading over to the local gym where I'm working hard on my training.

Don't mind the boys in the background. They are the hired help, brought in just to set up the mats and take them down. They're like a bunch of zoo animals.

Earth Day Project, 2013

So I had my first school project and it was for an Earth Day contest that I wanted to enter. After dad mumbled something about "I've done enough school projects in my life" Mom saved the day with her school spirit (and nerdy love for school projects).

So I started with a clean green slate and began going to work on making some butterflies and bees and bugs out of toilet paper rolls and construction paper.

Then I took the paper and began drawing some stuff and making a title for my project. The title was the only thing Mom helped me with, the rest was straight from my noggin.

Decided I needed a caterpillar to finish it off.

And... VOILA!

So that was that, I'll find out next week if I won or not.

And then Mae's competitive juices started flowing and she was all "I'm going to enter the contest" and I was all "but you can't you're not even in school yet" and she was all "Yuh-huh. I'm in the 6th grade, fool" and I was all "let's go, right now, fisticuffs." That last part didn't really happen, but Mae did really make her own project (I told her it was really good but it was nowhere near as good as mine).

The Waiting Game

Not much going on lately as we're in waiting-for-baby mode but there are a few things to report.

Mae got herself to the dentist and hopefully got all the mango out of her teeth (man that kid loves mango).

She also went to her first swimming lesson with our friend, Ana. Here's the catch: this is the happiest Mae looked all morning. Soon after this photo she began crying about not wanting to go into the pool and it went on for nearly an hour... good times.

Me? I've been just kicking it old school...

And I went with mom about a week ago and we got our nails done.

Other than that, we've got our bag packed and we're on standby til this little bird decides it's go time and wants to meet the world.
