What's So Funny, Mae?

Got my haircut again today, second one I've ever had. This one was way different. I sat in a Thomas the Train car while this lady cut my hair. Not sure why I didn't choose the pink Corvette but alas, I've decided that's the one I'm going to sit in next time (and I've relayed that information about 27 times to Dad since the haircut moment). Not a very exciting photo but it was a whole lot of fun.

Wait, did someone just say the word "fun"? I now present you, Mabel Jane.

And Mabel Jane, Piratess of the High Seas (read that line again in your best pirate voice, then look at the photo - much more effective, wasn't it?).

And now back to Mabel Jane, food comedian.

Numbers, Hats & O's

So Mom got me these new numbers things so that I can learn to write my numbers. She left the room and when she came back - BLAM! - had it going on already, with zero assistance. Then the phone rang it was Mensa looking for me. I told them I'd call them back.

Also, got a new hat and I'm straight stylin.

Wait, slight problem, I think I misplaced a cheerio. If any of you see it, please call me and let me know where it is. I swear it was just here and now I can't seem to locate it. Okay, well, ciao for now, I gotta go find that O.

Bucket Girl

Has anyone seen my... oh, here it is. I've been looking for this t-... um... can I get a little help?
Seriously guys, can someone take this bucket off my head...
So now that I'm in here it got me thinking of the Bucket Boys. It's a group of kids from ages 5-18 that sit outside many of the Chicago tourist hot spots (think: the Art Museum) and play on their buckets with their drumsticks. People love these kids. They even played at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game a few years back. Anyway, I have no idea where that story was going except that they play buckets and I'm essentially stuck in one.

To Infinity And Beyond

So today Miss Stacey took Mabel and me to the Planetarium, which was pretty awesome considering it's a whole place dedicated to planets and space. It's like the Shedd Aquarium but without the dolphins, sea lions, beluga whales, sea otters and penguins.

First we crawled through some secret caves.
Then it was time to man the battle station, which was cool but someone kept talking about the city of Houston and I wasn't sure why. I was like, "Dudes, this is Chicago. Houston is in Texas."... tourists... sheesh.
Jumped into the spaceship chair and made like John Glenn.
Then I decided that in one short span of about 30 minutes I could make like two of my favoritest movie stars.

Buzz Lightyear with his incredible space backpack...
And Maverick from Top Gun (this jacket just makes me want to start singing, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and I'm not sure why...

Just A Walk In The Park

So the weekend once again brought beautiful weather so we did our best to get out and enjoy it. Sunday we went to the park.

First I got some pictures with Mom and Dad.

Then Mae and I took on the paparazzi... well, Mae didn't really know what was going on and she kept asking me why I insisted on showing off her belly.

Then Mae and I just flew solo.

And then the action started in. First, Mae did some swinging. It's all good until she starts teething on the rubber seat, then Mom gets grossed out and we have to reassess the situation.
There's a phrase in the skateboarding world that has to do with going vertical. It's when you are just way up in the air getting silly with the whole thing. Well folks, before we left to go back home... I got vertical.

As Of Late...

So what have Mabel and I been up to? Here's what:

Looking like a total booknerd... I mean, bookworm.

Mae is in basically the same place you probably left her... the high chair, eating food (though her hair is considerably cooler these days). I know, with all the pictures of her eating food you'd be surprised to hear she's in the bottom 10%' in size for little kiddies her age.

And then here, well, it seems our little Mae got herself into some trouble and had to get a mugshot down at the station in the 11th District.

Wait, did I say her hair was getting cooler? Debatable. Oh, what did she do to get locked in the pokey? Depends on whom you ask, but rumor has it she was hanging down in Garfield Park and ran into some kids who were graffiti'ing... and leave it to Mae to not disappoint. Feds rolled up and she just kept spraying, like Mick Jagger sprays lyrics... here's the final product.
And these next photos are what happens when I decide I'm going to skip my nap completely, then I'm going to roll with Dad to Guitar Center and play virtually every single instrument in the joint and then we're going to get back in the car and head home to...

Happy Hallowait-a-minute

My Halloween costume came today and well, I just couldn't wait to try it on. When I go to the zoo, which I'm going to do this morning with Miss Stacey (my best friend who comes and hangs out with Mabel and me while Mom and Dad are at work), one of my very favorite animals to go see is the giraffe. So in honor of that, Mom got me this most excellent Halloween costume, which I'm sure you'll see more of in late October but just thought I'd give you a sneak-peak-trick-or-treat.
