Happy Mother's Day

I think you've seen this picture before, but it's one of my all-time favorites so I'm using it again in honor of my Mother's Day Post.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you Moms and Grandmas out there - hope you have a wonderful day.

Dress Up

I like to do things with clothes. First off, Dad has put a stop to folding any of my clothes after they are cleaned because one of my favorite things to do is to take everything out of my drawers, walk around the upstairs with it, and just throw my clothes in all corners of everywhere.

Aside from that, sometimes I just like to put my coat and hat on for no reason. Like here, I was eating but I really wanted my coat and hat on. So there you have it, not much more to say except I kind of look alternative in this photo; you know, like the University of Colorado kid who goes to the Arcade Fire concert and has the long hair coming out from under his winter hat... only difference is I'm not stoned (might be hard to believe looking at that second photo and the fact that I look like I'm on a munchies binge).
And this was after a bath, I had no diaper on, half my jammies on and half of them off, and I have to say it was quite liberating. Does this mean I will participate in streaking the Marquette Union 20 years from now during finals week? Don't answer that.

Happy Easter!

Wait, I know, I'm about a month late, but you all know why, so let me just jump into this post (hopefully without hurting myself)... wait for it... wait for it... okay, hopefully you got that one.

So, we moved into our new home at 1341 S. Indiana Ave. in the South Loop (Unit H, I might add). And right after we moved in Grandma Lammel came to stay for a whole week! So I got to spend just about every waking hour with her for seven days straight. And a few days into her trip Nonie came from New Hampshire and she stayed for a week, too. And then Good Friday became Great Friday because Grandpa Lammel arrived for Easter Weekend.

Here's a breakdown of some of the many wonderfully fun things we did that week.

I blew bubbles with Grandpa in my park (yes, I'm calling it mine, now).

I played in the sandbox with Grandma. Grandpa actually MADE me that sandbox and it sits right out on our patio so I can play in it whenever I want.

I ate one of Nonie's famous meatballs. Dad calls Nonie's meatballs his death row meal... like if he was ever on death row and was given his choice of a last meal before being executed, he would have to have Nonie fly in to Chicago, make the meatballs and take them to the Joliet Prison.
I colored Easter eggs with Dad.
Easter morning we went to Church at Old St. Pat's.
Then Dad's whole family over for dinner. We ate some mean cuisine and then headed out into my park for some play time.

I had an egg hunt in my beautiful Easter dress.

Eli taught Grandpa how to play t-ball.

Back inside Nana and I put things on our heads (silly, Nana).

Isaiah read me some books.

I watched The Masters with Papa.

And Mom and Nonie spent some quality time together.
Whew, what a week. This post could've been much much longer - I mean, a LOT happened in that week - but I figure that was a lot of photos to digest.

God, it's good to be back.

PT

"Hey Coach, can I get some PT?!" That's what a ballplayer would say to his coach in order to get more playing time (which is what PT stands for).

But when I yelled that out to Mom the other day I meant, "Hey Mom, can I get a pony tail?!" so she obliged.

(Side note: If we're doing baseball analogies here, Mom is more like the owner and Dad is more like the Head Coach. So, like, Dad can make the decision about which starting pitcher to put in (which would be like whether or not I can go outside without shoes on) or if we should put on a double steal (which would be like letting me stay up late so we can rough-house) BUT, Dad can always be reprimanded by the Owner (after I go to bed) and even fired (well, not really, but you get what I mean) if things don't work out (I cut my foot on a rock or can't go to sleep until 10:00 because I'm all wound up).

There were a lot of parenthesi in that last paragraph but they were all necessary.

So, without further ado, "Hey Coach, can I get some PT?!"

I'm Baaaaaaaack!!!

AC-DC was Back in Black (I'm wearing brown pants and a yellow/brown/pink plaid top today.
Somebody somewhere right now is saying, "I'll scratch your back, you scratch mine."

Sir Mix-A-Lot alluded to the fact that he was enamored with trunk junk when he said "Baby Got Back." (This is a funny song because it comes on at weddings and everyone that is 33 or younger goes crazy running to the dance floor - except for Dad, he's not into it -and everyone 34 or older is like, "What in God's name is this? I'm going outside for a smoke... and I don't even smoke.")

Joe Crede missed much of last season for the White Sox because he had a bad back.

The Beattles sang "Get Back."

Old people always say, "Back in my day..."

And now it's my turn to add another chapter to the "back" book in the world of history, so I've decided I'm gonna say it like Michael Jordan said it in a fax to the whole world when he was coming out of retirement in 1995 (I don't have a fax machine or I would've announced my return the same way).

After a long hiatus that involved moving into a new home, lots of visitors and Dad almost taking a flamethrower to Comcast's headquarters, I will be posting some much-anticipated stories and photos that include Easter week, a really fun bathtime, and (this is just a hint) something to do with ponies.

So with all that said, "I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!"

Stay tuned...

Oh Where, Oh Where...

Has your little Fin gone? Well, we moved into our new apartment back in the city and we can't get our home computer hooked up... and that's where all the photos are of me, so I haven't been posting.

I was going to wait for photos to post but figured some of you might need an update. After five months at Nana & Papa's we are back to just the three of us. We moved back downtown, about a block from where our condo was, and we are renting.

Yes, I know, we were going to buy a house somewhere in the burbs but when we were looking at houses Dad kept wondering who was going to clean the gutters and cut the grass (if you know my Dad, you know I'm not kidding). He is too frugal to pay someone to do it and too incompetent to do it himself (his only time cutting the grass when he was a youngster he drove over a metal pipeline on the side of the house and blew up Papa's BRAND NEW lawnmower).

So we're back down by the lakefront and when you step off the bottom front step of our townhome you are literally in a park that we used to go to all the time last Summer. And my favorite thing to do at the new place is stand at the front door and look through the glass at all the dogs that walk around my park.

I've got a great setup, too. Mondays and Wednesdays I go out to Nana's and I get to hang with Nana, Eli and Boss. Then, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays Anya (my nanny) comes down to play with me at our apartment.

Side note: I'm pretty smart but I'm getting a little confused. Try to stay with me -

Momma
Hannah
Anya (who also goes by Anna)
Andy (Dad's friend)
Nana
nana (short for banana)
and Nonie, who is Mom's Nana

Then there's Dada, Papa and Tata (Aunt Tasha).

See what I mean? It's just an endless array of the same vowel sounds tweaked slightly... who created these titles for us little ones to try to remember?

Okay, well, I have some great Easter week stories to tell about my Grandma and Grandpa visiting from Nebraska, my Nonie visiting from New Hampshire and Dad's family all coming over for Easter Dinner. But those stories will be much better told with some photos, so hopefully we'll be fully operational soon.
