GUEST EDITOR ALERT: Buddy Skertich

Hey there... it's me... Buddy the Dog. A lot of you know me by now because I've appeared in stories from time to time. Well, I asked Fin if I could write a post in light of recent events that are happening with Mabel... and she said... "sure."

So Mae and Fin come over to my house once a week and hang out with Nana, Joe the Cat and me for the day. And most of the time Eli is here and sometimes Sophie. And we have a lot of fun, run around outside, take naps, the whole bit... until recently. Here, take a look.

Yep, that's Mae, who has recently decided that I am a teething biscuit. She spends the entire day following me around, even climbing into my dog bed... and then when she gets me, I'm toast... literally... eaten like a piece of toast. Might as well put some mixed berry jam on my feet.

Here she's up for some air and then it's right back at it.
Oh, and this is ripe. When I lay in the family room by the door she likes to grab a hold of my fur and pull herself up, then use me as a balance beam. Yeah, feels great.
There are times when, I must admit, I just move my head a little and giggle as she takes a spill.
So I've spent this entire post complaining, but what I really wanted to say is through all the foot eating and fur pulling, I get moments like this, when Mae crawls over and gives me a kiss. Doesn't try to eat my face or poke me in the eyes, just some big old open-mouth baby love. And for that, it's all worth it.
