So yesterday we got about 17 or 18 inches of snow, and that was just the start of it. See, then the winds kicked up to about 40-50 mph during the evening and overnight and blew all the snow from the tops of roofs and trees and everywhere else on top of the 17 or 18 inches so we ended up with about 2.5 - 3 feet of snow in our backyard, which turned it into a winter wonderland.
We grabbed the sleds and had our own little mini sledding hills.
Then dad shoveled a huge tunnel for us and built us a mini snow fort at the end of it and we played snow leopards for a long time...
Until the cold caught up with us and Mae's cheeks were like two tomatoes.
We can't wait to get home from school tomorrow - on Mae's birthday to boot - and get back at it.

Scrabble This!
So we hadn't done word and reading stuff for maybe a week and a half so Dad is like, "Hey Fin, I'm going to clear the table and when I come into the living room in two minutes I wanna see if you can make three words out of the tiles - Bug, Bed and Sad." Deep down, he's not sure I can do it, right? Well, Dad... BLAM!

And then he's like, "Nicely done, Fin. Now let me give you three more words and one of them will be four letters. Let's see how you handle this one." Um, nailed it!

Oh, and tonight we went on a bike ride to the sledding hill over by old McCormick Place. It was awesome, I ran up the hill...

Only to find when I got to the top that Mae was already there?? How the heck did that happen?

Anyway, she figured one good turn deserved another, so tonight it was her turn to bite the dust on the ride home.
