We're getting all pumped up for Christmas in this house. Reason? I learned who Santa Claus was a few days ago but last night they told me this fat cat comes down my chimney and leaves me surprises, things like books and puzzles and toys, so it's safe to say it just got taken to another level.
A couple weeks ago the buzz started by bringing a tree in the house and putting all kinds of stuff on it. I mean, a tree? In the house? I figured this was one of Dad's genius (and by that I mean "stupid") ideas, but Mom was all for it so I figured it had some credence. I got the game pretty quickly.
First you hook it...

Then you hang it.

Now I have a unique strategy with this decorating the tree thing. I like to put all my ornaments in one spot. Mom and Dad prefer the "one ornament over here, one ornament over there" approach but I'm a little more calculated than that. I want these things eye level (for me) and I want a lot of them. If you don't like it - go decorate your own tree (sorry for the angst but I'm serious about this).

JESUS, DAD! We can't take him anywhere.

Success.

Tree? Check. But then it was time to head out and hang some lights with Clark Griswald/Chevy Chase, er, my Dad. I untangled the line as Clark decided where to put the lights.

Don't worry, Clark, I've got your legs!

And then a few days later it snowed. Wow, now this whole snow thing is cool so I got my mittens on and headed out.

I think we're gonna be spending a lot of weekends outside in the snow this year if this keeps up. And it was funny, but Dad was in a much better mood this year with the snow, last year he was downright angry. Thinking back, maybe it's that he doesn't have to shovel 45-feet of Nana and Papa's driveway every time it snows this year... yeah, that's probably it.
