Story Time with Pax

So there's a new member at the breakfast table (and apparently Mae's feeling feisty about that).

After we ate I decided to read him a book. This one was about Alfie and his mom teaching him how to say please.

He absolutely loved it.

Meanwhile, Mae was trying to get her bowl unsuctioncupped from the table, which was just classic Mabel (not the sharpest knife in the drawer).

Back to the book - by the time we got done he was asleep. Finley Skertich, Baby Whisperer, over and out.

Oh, but not to be outdone was Mabel Jane, who had her own story up her sleeve, which Pax also fell asleep to. By the way, this gave me a complex and I'm now questioning my baby whispering skills.

Story Time

So here's the thing. I may or may not have told you that Mae just totally one-upped me by literally potty-training herself. Like, on her own, no help from anyone, basically just put a pot in the kitchen and she did her thing. But now when she's waiting for, well, "it," she likes it when I sit and read her a book.

And sometimes if we get through a story I give her the book and show her the pictures. I think this is what they mean by quality time.
